Several Red Admiral butterflies in the garden sitting on a syringa.
Not sure whether I got that right. Looks like a Northern red-banded yellow jacket.
In the humid air yesterday afternoon, the hoverflies were very active around our flower pots.
A few crane pictures from the polder Bramel. Heavy cloud cover and relatively large distance are reflected in the poor quality of the pictures. The pictures were taken with the Nikon D500 on the Nikkor 500/f5.6 and the TC-14.
I haven’t seen any snow buntings yet this early morning, but I have seen larger colonies of sandpipers on rising water.
