Cuxhaven also enjoys a peaceful and beautiful Christmas season. The large, festively decorated Christmas tree on Buttplatz square is a particularly striking feature.
But that’s not all: the city of Cuxhaven has enhanced the view even further. Why shouldn’t the construction fence elements also contribute to the beautification, the city council surely thought, and draped them stylishly next to the fir tree. In the summer, they will be used again for the city marathon on the station forecourt to present the beauty of the recently redesigned square to arriving travelers.
It’s a shame that they tore down the old advertising columns because they made the cityscape look “ugly”. Construction fences are a better fit for the dilapidated Hermine, which they also spruced up with expensive indirect lighting.
