Today it was less windy and above all there was sunshine, real sunshine. Therefore, a quick flight until the phone battery was empty. It still needs some practice to be able to estimate how far out you will fly. At first I thought that I had to be over the water already, but that was […]

Sanderling
2 hours of sun and incoming water. Time for some pictures of the Sanderlings at the Kugelbake. With a rather strong wind, which blew incessantly from the west, the birds sat together in small groups directly along the path, while others were still picking up some food.
Snow Bunting and Ruddy Turnstone
At the “Kugelbake” I had the luck today for the first time to take pictures of the Snow Bunting wintering here. Since the storfront Victoria was still present, a large number of Ruddy Turnstones were also close to the path in search of food.
Stormfront Sabine
Due to offshore winds, the stormfront Sabine was not very spectacular on Sunday. Meanwhile, the newspaper reported that the high water was lower than usual. So the trip to Obereversand was not really worthwhile.
Little Prussian
Not spectacular, but finally some sun. Although it was really very cold and the wind did the rest. Very windy for the small drone, but still quite stable shot, although the copter itself swayed and wobbled precariously in the air.
Eurasian Treecreeper
Sooner or later, the weather really gets on your nerves… Anyway, just took a quick look if I get something in front of the lens; and, lo and behold, a Eurasian Treecreeper. Actually I was looking for the kingfisher in the area, but he did not show up today.
Cuxhaven Panorama
Test of the automatic release with the DJI. In this case, the Mavic Mini takes a picture every 2 seconds. If you let it slowly rotate around its own axis, you can easily create a 360° panorama from the individual images. The image quality is also not too bad for the small sensor. However, the […]
Mavic Mini second test
Yesterday we started a second round of testing in much better conditions. A few shots in Cappel-Neufeld, Berensch and Lüdingworth are not even that bad. Of course the flying has to get a bit better, but the little Mavic is doing really well. No comparison to the Phantom I had 6 years ago. For the […]
Mavic Mini First Flight
First test flight with the Mavic Mini in modest weather (and it was cold to boot). The flight characteristics of the small drone are enormous. Despite icy winds the little Mavic stands very calm in the air. The telephone battery did not like the temperatures at all. After 20 minutes the battery had gone from […]
Cuxhaven – Ritzebüttel Castle
Today I made an infrared picture with the Nikon D80, Nikkor 16-85 and the Hoya R72 filter. It is rather something for spring and summer, but with subsequent retro-style conversion to Lightroom, it can also be used in winter.
