I had to replace my old weather station. After 4 years the rain sensor of the Oregon WMR200 failed for the second time (outside guarantee). The new actual weather can be found here. At current I cannot provide daily, weekly and monthly overviews. Such data from my station can be viewed on Weather Underground INIEDERS390 […]

Planning Tuscany 2018 – La Foce
We have been in La Foce last time but during daytime, so not the best time for shots there. It does definitely work in the morning hours and is not too far away. Whether evening hours work, we’ll have to see. Planning 2 locations, not far apart from each other. [singlepic id=6304 w=800 h=600 float=left] […]
Planning Tuscany 2018 – Pitigliano
Pitigliano was on the list for the last 2 times visiting Tuscany but we never made it to there. Hope we can do it this time. As it will be a more than 1h to drive to there, we might not be able to do it for the morning light but definitely for the evening […]
Cuxhaven – Water tower
Lighthouse Arngast
As planned earlier we made it on Dec-28th to Wilhelmshaven for some lighthouse shots. Although the sunrise was not as I was hoping for, it was at least a good chance to explore the location further.
Cuxhaven – Water tower
Early morning shot of the Cuxhaven water tower. Again, another grey day… unfortunately. However, in the afternoon the sun came through for some time. Here are 2 shots, one from the morning and another one taken in the afternoon.
Planning Tuscany 2018 – Crete Senesi

Cuxhaven – Early morning at the harbour
Needed to get out… Over the last weeks it was always grey skies and not ver good weather, so I had to take the chance…
Good sunset/sunrise prediction
Besides choosing the right location for this kind of photography, there are conditions which allow or disallow doing it. To a good extend it is plan-able, but at last it will also need some luck. Below I tried to summarize the factors to use for prediction of such. Mid to high level clouds Clouds are […]
Cuxhaven – Marina
Promising forecast for a nice sunrise. Before the sun was really up, it was already over and the sky turned to grey’ish colour. Not 100% satisfied with the shots but not too bad. The shots were made using the D850 and the Zeiss 21mm.
