I haven’t seen any snow buntings yet this early morning, but I have seen larger colonies of sandpipers on rising water.

Moon and Jupiter
Two pictures from last night… The moon at 47% with the Skywatcher Maksutov at 1300mm and the Nikon 1 J4. The image was composed of 3 exposures. Due to the crop factor of the J4 only half of the crescent moon was on the image. The image of Jupiter is very small despite 2600mm […]
Duhner Heide
The waxwings were unfortunately not to be seen today in the early morning, but a few other native species. The latter could also be a song thrush, I’m not so sure.
On the way to breakfast
After the time reset, there was enough time this morning to cycle through Cuxhaven to the meeting point. All pictures were taken with the Nikon J4 and the kit lens 10-30mm. All in all, the camera is only useful for my astro project. OK, for times a short snapshot it may go, but then the […]
M31 – Andromeda
Last night it was finally clear again. Opportunity to capture the Andromeda galaxy. Other deep sky objects would have fallen victim to the (almost) full moon. Originally it was supposed to be a mosaic, but that didn’t work out. Therefore as a single image, and thus also M110 squeezed hard to the edge. The […]
At the Stinstedt lake
I wanted to take a few infrared pictures. Unfortunately, the sun has not quite played along, so everything has become a bit pale, but still quite nice. On the way to the lake, this nice courtyard driveway caught my eye. At the lake it was even more dreary than on the way there. No […]
At the Oste river
Short drive to Neuhaus (Oste) and Geversdorf. After the weather prospects during the day I had expected a little more…
3 days at the Schlei
For 3 days we went to the area north-east of Schleswig. First and foremost, we wanted to explore the area by bike. The photography was intended more as a sideline. A few decent pictures are it but then become. A few more pictures are posted on the SmugMug-Seite page..
M33 – Triangulum Galaxy
Last night were best conditions for a longer session with the telescope. I had set my sights on the previously photographed galaxy M33. In contrast to the two previous shots (the last one was only a test anyway) of the galaxy, I had left the camera position as it was. So the image is […]
Not as planned…
…and not as hoped. I had planned for yesterday evening the moonset – albeit only 18% moon – at Obereversand with telephoto lens with PlanIt! Unfortunately this did not work out as thought. Originally the moon should stand on the right of the tower, on height of the dome. But the chosen location – according […]
