On the fifth day we did not travel around that much, instead we spent the day in Pienza and did relax a bit. Early morning we tried again at Podere Belvedere to grab some misty morning hours, but, without luck. Although, the sunrise was quite good. Around lunchtime we had a look at the […]

Tuscany 2017 – Day 4
On day 4 we decided to run an early session at Agriturismo Terrapille for some morning shots. Having explored the area on day 3 already we knew where we wanted to go. Above shot was done with wide angle lens but main shots where using short tele-lens (I used the 90mm Voigtländer on the D800). […]
Tuscany 2017 – Day 3
Third day we decided to go to Montepulciano and spend the day there. In the morning I woke up quite early and did one round of shots close to the farmhouse. Later the day we tried Agriturismo Terrapille but the last location chosen did not work for me. So, not a lot of good […]
Tuscany 2017 – Day 2
On the second day, I wanted to concentrate mainly on the previously defined locations. Therefore, we went to the first location of my list. Before sunrise we reached the location to shoot Podere Belvedere where all photographers meet at that time (about 10 were there or arrived later). Shortly before sunrise we went to the […]
Tuscany 2017 – Day 1
After 1575 km we reached our destination, a farmhouse called Bonellino Vecchio, very late at 9pm. But, the next morning really made it up for such a long ride… I woke up quite early and had a first view into the valley from farmhouse’s garden. We definitely have chosen the right location for the stay. […]
Kugelbake
Another set of pictures from Cuxhaven’s landmark; this time using the Nikkor PC-E on my D7200. No sunrise, no sunset, just later the day. In the first image I tilted by about 4° down and shifted the lens up. Due to the tilt, the whole foreground was in focus – very nice. Exactly why I […]
Bremerhaven – Lighthouse Geeste
Things sometimes get different than planned. The planned location where I wanted to take the shots from was closed to public and slightly left to that point (which would still have worked), a ship was moored. I took one testshot between the ship and the fence but that wasn’t the picture I was looking for. […]
Planning Bremerhaven – Geeste
A picture that I have in my mind would cover the lighthouse in front of the setting sun. This time of the year would probably allow to do so, if the weather permits. [restrict userlevel=”subscriber”] The location for shooting is in the direction of the Geeste river spout. This allows for both lighthouses to shoot. […]
Sunrise at Kugelbake
Early morning at Cuxhaven’s town landmark the Kugelbake. The weather forecast wasn’t really promising but it turned out to be a stunning sunrise. I used the D800 with the Samyang 135f2 and a polarizer for some decent shots while the sun was rising.
Cuxhaven – Alte Liebe
Early morning at the “Alte Liebe” in Cuxhaven. Short but somewhat nice sunrise time with just a small area where the sun was coming through the clouds.
