The third object I shot during the night of Jan-2nd to Jan-3rd. Also, my first attempt to shoot unattended. After setting the parameters and the started the sequence, I went to sleep. However, during the night, some clouds came in and did hide the galaxy, so I had to sort these pictures out. My attempt […]

M81/M82 – Bode & Cigar Galaxy
After several weeks with only grey sky, January 2nd was clear skies and I took the opportunity to shoot some objects. First I tried to shoot the Lowers’ Nebulae but it was too low at the sky so the house roof came into the view and I had to abort this session. Next object were […]
M33 – Triangulum Galaxy
Last night was clear, so I took the opportunity for another shooting session. This time my object was the Messier 33 or Triangulum Galaxy. Still not 100% worked out with Pixinsight, especially with the background extraction to avoid bigger colour shifts, but alright for now. The shooting parameters can be seen from below. The […]

Andromeda – reworked
For these pictures the normal workflow does not apply and there are much more steps needed than (for example) in landscape photography. I studied some workflows from others and reworked the Andromeda picture. Still far away from what I would like to get, but better than the last one.
First Light
Wiki: In astronomy, first light is the first use of a telescope (or, in general, a new instrument) to take an astronomical image after it has been constructed. So, here we go, the first set of images taken with the Skywatcher EQM-35… Well, not really successful, but also a small first achievement. Last night I equipped the […]
