Early morning hours to visit the spot where the Short-eared Owls are. I was trying to grab a nice picture having one of the owls in the sunrise light. While being there I also took some nice sunrise shots of the harbor area.

New Year
Didn’t have much time for photography in the past 2 months and the weather wasn’t pleasing for this hobby as well – but at least a picture to welcome the new year. So, packed my AllView Panorama-Head and went to the Cuxhaven harbor for having a different view than usual. Shot was done using the […]
At the Schleusenpriel
Early morning shot in the center of Cuxhaven. Using the Allview Panoramic Head for a 24 picture panorama with the D800 and the Zeiss 50f1.4 for a 180° wide view. The final stitched picture is around 1.5 GByte in size and has around 500 Megapixel. On the right side is the Public Library and opposite […]
Autumn
Some shots taken during a walk through the forest in Sahlenburg. I had the D800 with the Zeiss 50f1.4 and the D2x with the Sigma 30f1.4 with me. Both are excellent lenses that provide sharp and gracious looking pictures.
Kugelbake sunrise
Spent a good hour to take some shots of the sunrise in the wadden sea close to Cuxhaven monument “Kugelbake”. Using the Sigma 35mm attached to the D2x and the Sigma 50mm at the D800 which gives comparable angles of view. Barnacle geese getting to the south for winter. The old D2x is still a […]
Cuxhaven harbour
Even in summer the weather in Iceland can be of any kind. However these days it is like there also here in Cuxhaven. Clouds, some small openings in the clouds, rain and so on. All pictures taken with Nikon D800 and Sigma 24-105f4 mounted on Gitzo DT4552TS with Arca Swiss D4. Also trying out a […]
Windmill Amanda in Grefenmoor
Some pictures of the windmill Amanda in Grefenmoor close to Stade. All these pictures were taken in 2006 using the Olympus E-500 with standard kit lenses. At that time I was mainly doing panorama pictures stitched together of several shots using a self-made nodal adapter. For the first time the smock mill was built in 1853. […]
Flight at Kugelbake
Short flight with the DJI at Cuxhaven Kugelbake. Last flight I did was in the morning hours so the sun was behind the Kugelbake. Today in the early evening hours the light was coming from the opposite side. Unfortunately still a lot of people around so I went a bit offside.
Polder Glies
Not a lot of action at Polder Glies but at least I was able to shoot my first cuckoo ever. The little Barn Swallow wasn’t scared and sat at the look out so I had to move backwards to get into shooting distance.
Helgoland
Daytrip to Helgoland. Both 150-600 lenses and the Nikkor 200-400 together with the D7200 and D4 were used for several shots. Mainly doing close-ups and in flight shots. More Helgoland pictures from this trip by clicking one of the pictures which takes you to the SmugMug gallery.
