Last night, a remnant of the last substorm in Cuxhaven was still visible. I drove to Döse at around 10:30 pm without too much hope of seeing many auroras. However, a little northern light did become photographically visible.

Unbelievable…
This was probably the most violent solar storm since 2003 (as reported on the Internet). Here it was – of course as always – cloudy. There was a small chance that there would be gaps in the clouds from about 2 o’clock. So I got up at 1:30 a.m. and drove to Döse, the northernmost […]
Northern lights over the tidal Elbe
Yesterday evening there were auroras to marvel at over the Tidal Elbe. Marveling because – for me – it was the first time I could see the lights directly. Despite the bright moon, it was quite impressive. There was also very little boat traffic, which made the whole thing even better. The wind of […]
Well…
…at least there is something to see. Unfortunately, unfortunately, unfortunately the sky was completely cloudy here in the night from November 4 to 5 and the gray mass did not allow any attempt to take photos of the substorm. Too bad, though. Then yesterday evening another aurora forecast. But not with the same intensity as […]
Aurora over the North Sea
Last night was again alarm and it was worth it. Quickly to the dike and yes, you could guess the arc. On the first photos then the certainty. Very beautiful. Towards the end of the activity, I made a panorama of the Grimmershörn Bay and the Elbe. Here you can see the expansion of […]
Aurora over the North Sea
Finally it worked out again. The last times it was here every time cloudy or so partly cloudy that the auroras could not be seen. After 30 minutes on site, too many clouds came over the sky again. Beamer are not to be seen, but nevertheless I am quite happy with the results.
